Stephen Burke

Animateur (Boroughbridge High School)

Stephen trained as a performer and director at Bretton Hall and holds BA and MA qualifications in these disciplines. He has worked as an actor on TV, on film and nationally around the contemporary theatre circuit and he also performed as a stand-up comic for several years in London and Manchester.

He has directed many plays, devised works and delivered projects for theatre companies, theatres, associations and festivals nationwide, examples including previous work for and with Box Clever, York Theatre Royal and the National Association of Youth Theatres.

Stephen has many years experience planning and delivering creative learning projects with all education sectors from primary through to Higher Education and has worked for several years as artist in residence within schools. He also creates his own Live Art performance work that has been shown in a variety of event settings and festivals.
