C&T Gets In

C&T is one of 10 companies in England to have been selected to run research pilot projects to identify new ways of engaging young people in theatre for Arts Council England’s Young People’s Participatory Theatre scheme.  The climax of the YPPT scheme was the Get In conference in Liveprool, 25-27 July 2008, which gave all 10 companies the chance to share their research findings to young people, arts practitioners and the theatre establishment. C&T took the opportunity to bring with us three 14-year-old students from West Yorkshire, some of the participants in our pilot project, +Verb.  The conference was a mixture of strategic discussions about the future of youth theatre and the role young people have in the future of the theatre industry, as well as giving many opportunities to work with a range of international practitioners like Ish and Nos do Morro.
