Secondary Schools
What do we do?
Our partner secondary schools get opportunities, resources and new thinking from C&T that they couldn’t get elsewhere. By bringing to each school a collision of drama, digital media, online resources, vocational experiences, national collaborations, accreditation and professional development, C&T is a route to creative learning that simply can’t be achieved any other way.
With you we’ll build a long-term collaboration which locates C&T’s innovative mix of learning, theatre and technology in your school, all directed towards the outcomes you need.
Why?
The Knowledge Economy is growing faster than any other sector. The creative and digital industries are the future for more and more of your students. They need to be prepared for this future with the right thinking and learning skills.
Fortunately, young people want to learn creatively. But creating in school the opportunities for creative learning isn’t easy. Our partners all over the UK have discovered that C&T is a great way to not just build a culture of creative learning, but to raise standards.
How do we do this?
C&T is the catalyst for change in your school – which means we do it in collaboration with your students and teachers. And because C&T is committed to a fruitful working partnership, students and staff know that their relationship with C&T will be deep and ongoing.
We agree with you measurable objectives, tailored to your needs, then devise and deliver a programme of activity to achieve them. This activity will be unique and specific to you – and there are some major themes common to all our partners:
We’re there in the room. Much will be initiated and led by a professional C&T practitioner embedded into the life of your school. The trust they’ll build is the basis for your students embarking on creative learning and your teachers trying new techniques – secure in the knowledge that we’ll be there to support them.
We’re not empty-handed. C&T brings money to the partnership: we fund a quarter of your school’s activity through our Arts Council England grant; we involve your school in externally funded, nationally networked, high-profile projects unavailable to anyone else (last year we raised £60,000 for this); and we help you use C&T to generate funds for yourself.
Benefit from the others. By being part of a national network of schools with a shared commitment to creative learning, you access the cultural diversity, collective wisdom and the successes other partners have achieved. Why reinvent the wheel?
New thinking and resources. Everyone in your school, students and teachers alike, accesses C&T’s wide range of resources and ideas, both physical and online. Our revolutionary, secure and unique creative workspace candtnetwork.org is available to all, including your feeder and overseas partners.
Let us help you. You access C&T’s considerable experience in project management, funding bids and community engagement, through regular contact with C&T senior management. We also offer pure CPD courses – delivered creatively, naturally.
