Priorities
C&T’s work is driven by a number of urgent social and cultural challenges. Across all our programmes, we use applied theatre, digital tools, and creative research to improve access, build skills, and amplify under-represented voices. These priorities shape our partnerships, our R&D, and the communities we work with in the UK and internationally.
Digital Literacy
Digital literacy is now essential for participation in education, work, and civic life. C&T develops creative digital programmes that help young people and communities build confidence, critical thinking, and agency in digital spaces. Through platforms such as Prospero, we enable participants to create, collaborate, and communicate using technology, rather than simply consume it.
Our approach prioritises inclusion, creativity, and real-world application, particularly for groups at risk of digital exclusion
Accessibility Through Technology and the Arts
Accessibility is central to C&T’s practice. We design creative experiences that remove barriers to participation for learning-disabled people and others who are often excluded from traditional cultural and digital spaces.
By combining applied theatre with accessible digital design, sensory approaches, and adaptive technologies, we create environments where participants can lead, contribute, and shape outcomes on their own terms. This work informs national conversations about inclusive practice in the arts, education, and digital innovation.
STEM Through Creativity
.C&T uses creative practice to open up STEM learning to young people who may not otherwise see themselves reflected in technical or scientific fields. Through movement, storytelling, data, and interactive technology, we make complex concepts tangible, playful, and human.
Our projects demonstrate how creativity can act as a bridge into STEM, supporting problem-solving, experimentation, and confidence, while complementing formal education and skills pathways.
Migration, Identity, and Belonging
C&T works with young people and communities affected by migration to explore identity, belonging, and social connection. Using theatre, digital storytelling, and participatory research, we create spaces for people to share lived experiences, challenge stereotypes, and contribute to public narratives.
This work supports integration, wellbeing, and civic participation, and is delivered in partnership with grassroots organisations, schools, and international collaborators
Children and young people
Young people are at the heart of all C&T’s work. Our programmes are co-created with children and young adults, recognising them as cultural producers, digital citizens, and agents of change. Across all priorities, we focus on voice, agency, and long-term impact..
