Al Pagan, Digital Developer
Al Pagan is a senior creative technologist and Technical Lead at Collar & Tie (C&T), with over 20 years’ experience designing and delivering innovative digital systems for the arts, education and cultural sectors. He leads the development of Prospero, C&T’s proprietary digital platform, which enables large-scale participatory storytelling through mobile devices, real-time interaction, and data-driven audience engagement.
Al’s practice sits at the intersection of software engineering, interactive design and applied theatre. He specialises in building robust, scalable systems that translate complex creative ideas into intuitive user experiences, including GPS-triggered narratives, motion tracking, multi-user environments and live performance integration.
His work underpins a wide range of national and international projects, from immersive theatre experiences and museum interpretation to education programmes delivered at scale. Through Prospero, Al has helped create digital infrastructures that support co-creation, accessibility and participation across diverse audiences, including children and young people, disabled communities, and global learning networks.
For this project, Al leads on the design and delivery of the digital architecture that connects live performance, audience interaction and creative content, ensuring a seamless, responsive and inclusive user experience across all touchpoints.
