Max Dean, Creative Producer

Dr Max Dean is a Creative Producer at C&T and a researcher specialising in the intersection of applied theatre, digital technology and participatory design. His work focuses on how interactive systems can transform audience engagement, learning and co-creation across cultural and educational contexts.

Max leads the creative development of Story Systems—C&T’s participatory narrative frameworks—and plays a central role in shaping how these are realised through Prospero, the organisation’s digital platform. His practice draws on constructivist learning theory, game design principles and immersive theatre methodologies to create experiences that position participants as active contributors rather than passive audiences.

He has worked extensively with national and international partners, including universities, cultural institutions and education systems, designing programmes that operate at scale while maintaining depth of engagement. His projects often explore accessibility and inclusion, particularly working with neurodiverse audiences and young people, developing approaches that foreground agency, creativity and voice.
