Dr Paul Sutton
Paul was a founder of C&T and leads the company’s projects and programmes, including our Prospero technology. He is a respected artist, teacher and academic with over thirty years experience in the arts, education and universities. He is the co-author of numerous books on applied theatre, education and technology. He was Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Worcester and Digital Editor of RiDE.

Dr Max Dean
Max has been with C&T for nearly twenty years, first leading youth theatre projects, now developing our community partnerships and projects. He recently completed his PhD in Drama and Video Games from the University of Warwick. Max is currently on shared parental leave, looking after his brand new daughter!

Al Pagan is a senior creative technologist and Technical Lead at Collar & Tie (C&T), with over 20 years’ experience designing and delivering innovative digital systems for the arts, education and cultural sectors. He leads the development of Prospero, C&T’s proprietary digital platform, which enables large-scale participatory storytelling through mobile devices, real-time interaction, and data-driven audience engagement.
Al’s practice sits at the intersection of software engineering, interactive design and applied theatre. He specialises in building robust, scalable systems that translate complex creative ideas into intuitive user experiences, including GPS-triggered narratives, motion tracking, multi-user environments and live performance integration.
Gaby Songui is a storyteller, producer, and digital artist, with a particular interest in creating work in collaboration with communities and/or young people. She first started working with C&T in 2022, where she created a multidisciplinary “choose your own adventure” story using Prospero. The project melded video game elements with theatre – and received exciting feedback from primary schools across the country.
