Youth and community
The Inclusion Network in Bootle, Merseyside, taking part in C&T's innovative creative programme tackling digital inclusionCreativity That Starts With People
C&T works alongside communities, charities, local authorities, health organisations, youth services and grassroots partners to create participatory projects that build confidence, connection and opportunity.
We use theatre, storytelling and digital technology to bring people together, amplify lived experience and create spaces where everyone can contribute. Whether supporting learning-disabled adults, young people facing barriers to opportunity, community groups, families or underrepresented voices, our work begins with a simple belief: people are experts in their own lives.
Through creative participation, we help communities tell stories, develop skills, strengthen relationships and shape positive change.
Participation With Purpose
Every community is different.
Rather than delivering fixed programmes, we work collaboratively with participants and partners to design projects that respond to local needs, priorities and ambitions.
Our Story Systems approach combines creativity, dialogue and technology to create experiences that are engaging, accessible and meaningful. Projects may focus on wellbeing, inclusion, digital skills, local identity, civic participation, employability, heritage, culture or community development.
The method is adaptable. The commitment to participation remains constant.
Building Strong Partnerships
Many of our most successful projects are developed through long-term partnerships.
We work closely with community organisations, health providers, schools, charities, local authorities and cultural partners to combine different forms of expertise and create sustainable impact.
Our role is often to bring together creativity, facilitation and digital innovation, helping organisations engage people in ways that are inclusive, enjoyable and effective.
The best projects are built with communities, not delivered to them.
Inclusion by Design
Accessibility and inclusion are central to our practice.
For more than twenty years, we have worked alongside learning-disabled people, neurodiverse participants and communities facing barriers to engagement.
We design projects that offer multiple ways to participate, communicate and contribute, ensuring that individuals can engage in ways that reflect their strengths, interests and experiences.
Participation is not simply about being present. It is about being heard, valued and able to shape the process.
Supporting Young People and Communities
We believe creativity can play a powerful role in helping people navigate a rapidly changing world.
Our work with young people and communities explores themes including:
Digital inclusion
Creativity and future skills
Confidence and communication
Health and wellbeing
Community cohesion
Civic participation
Disability rights and advocacy
Identity and belonging
By combining creative practice with digital tools, we create opportunities for people to learn, connect and contribute in ways that feel relevant to their lives.
Research, Learning and Impact
Our projects are informed by ongoing research and evaluation.
Using Prospero and our developing Theory of Change evaluation tools, we work with partners to understand not only what activities took place, but what changed as a result.
This helps organisations build evidence, learn from practice and demonstrate the value of participation to funders, stakeholders and communities themselves.
Let's Work Together
We are always interested in working with organisations that believe in the power of creativity, participation and collaboration.
Whether you are seeking to engage a community, support young people, improve wellbeing, strengthen inclusion or explore new forms of participation, we would love to start a conversation.
Together, we can create projects that place people, relationships and lived experience at the heart of change.
