Imperial College London

C&T is developing a strategic partnership with Imperial College London, one of the world’s leading universities for science, engineering, medicine, and innovation. Consistently ranked among the top institutions globally, Imperial is internationally recognised for its research excellence, interdisciplinary approach, and commitment to translating academic knowledge into real-world impact. Its reputation for scientific rigour and technological leadership makes it a significant partner for C&T as we expand our work at the intersection of creativity, technology, and learning.

This partnership is currently being shaped through Mission Control, a collaborative R&D project that brings together C&T’s expertise in applied theatre, participatory design, and accessible digital platforms with Imperial’s strengths in STEM research and education. Mission Control explores how creative frameworks, storytelling, and playful interaction can demystify complex scientific ideas, support digital confidence, and engage young people and communities who are often under-represented in STEM pathways.

Beyond a single project, the relationship with Imperial College London signals a longer-term ambition. Together, we are laying the foundations for new models of collaboration that connect arts practice with cutting-edge research, and schools, communities, and cultural organisations with STEM expertise. By combining Imperial’s academic leadership with C&T’s inclusive, community-centred approach, the partnership aims to open up future opportunities in STEM learning that are accessible, imaginative, and socially grounded, while creating replicable approaches that can be scaled nationally and internationally.
